        <description>This is a DCG Hologram of pipe support brackets. The emulsion turned out a little milky. Reasons for this could be trapped moisture during the initial drying process of the emulsion. This hologram is also especially interesting because the gelatin for the emulsion was applied with spin coating onto the glass. All holograms before I had veil coated. Spin coating can result in a more even emulsion. Later I learned that you could also veil coat first and then spin the plate afterwards to get an even better holographic plate. A milky emulsion holds more moisture and is therefore softer. If a softer emulsion tends to create more redder holograms, because even though you expose it to green light, the gelatin changes during drying and shifts the replay wavelength from green to red.
